The Safari Club International has assembled a partial list of North American game birds for their newly formed awards program. It would have been helpful had they discussed their list with anyone familiar with american upland bird hunting. They omitted Greater Prairie Chicken, White-tailed Ptarmigan, Woodcock, Snipe and even the Ring-necked Pheasant! SCI also names Blue Grouse which taxonomists separated into two species Dusky and Sooty grouse, several years ago.

I believe it's obvious that upland bird hunters will have to define their own upland bird slams and awards.
